Mountain of Dreams No. 0002 — Stream

Nature made the design. I'm just complimenting it.

A one-of-one Mountain of Dreams pendant from Monkey Mike's flagship edition. Mountain and sky burned by hand on a driftwood disc, its natural crack part of the drawing. Beeswax-sealed on hemp — a specific gift for someone who keeps looking uphill.

The crack became the mountain.

One mountain in every piece. A different sky each time.

The natural driftwood crack sets the mountain side and the frame.

Mike's flagship work — burned by hand, sealed with beeswax, on hemp.

Nothing stained. Nothing printed. Just wood and fire.

Burned by hand in Cleveland. The grain belongs to the wood—not a printer.

The particulars

No. 0001 got a star. This one gets weather of a different kind: water. A single big peak fills the disc, the wood's own crack splitting its face — and from the peak, the stream lines fall. Every Mountain of Dreams piece is the same mountain under a different sky. This sky is empty, and that's the point of this one: just the mountain, the crack it was born with, and the water running off it. Burned by hand into driftwood, sealed in beeswax, strung on hemp. Don't wear jewelry? Hang it from your mirror. It rides with you. Hand-burned by a human — no laser, ever. Sealed in beeswax. This piece is dw-mod-0002, numbered once and never repeated.

  • Hand-burned driftwood disc
  • Sealed with beeswax, on a hemp cord
  • Natural crack used as the mountain side and frame
  • One of one — its own mountain and sky

The wood has the last word.

Nothing stained. Nothing printed. Just wood and fire.

Take it off for showers and swimming. If it gets wet, dry it slowly at room temperature.

On wax-finished pieces, rub in a little plain beeswax and buff with a soft cloth. Labor of Love is boiled in beeswax: refresh it the same way to keep that finish.
