The lake had it first.

Storm. Shore. A piece worth picking up.

Read the grain before making the mark.

The journey stays in the wood.

Nothing stained. Nothing printed. Just wood and fire.

Burned by hand in Cleveland. The grain belongs to the wood—not a printer.

The particulars

Festival-only special from the WinterAtHome test run. A sun rising over the ridge, a tiny cabin tucked in below. Hand wood-burned on a Lake Erie driftwood slice, hung on natural hemp. One of one. WOOD FIRST. FIRE SECOND.

Take it off for showers and swimming. If it gets wet, dry it slowly at room temperature.

On wax-finished pieces, rub in a little plain beeswax and buff with a soft cloth. Labor of Love is boiled in beeswax: refresh it the same way to keep that finish.
